Beer and Buses Weekend – 13th & 14th October

It’s the traditional weekend to go to all the Pubs you wouldn’t normally go to, see the parts of the Island from your Vintage Bus that you’ve never seen before and have a great time with your friends and family and meet lots of strangers !

What a great way to spend a weekend, all you need to do is buy a program from any of the Pubs or Bars taking part in the weekend and most do, you get free bus rides and offers on all different Ales and Drinks. Now in its 7th year its become a real attraction for the Island for both locals and tourists.

We started in Ventnor which has 6 venues taking part and first stop was Joes Bar in Niton, actually it’s the Post Office but what a real find with its secret bar and garden at the rear, fab food too. Next onto Newport and out towards West Wight, second stop The Blacksmiths Arms with the most amazing views over the Solent, followed by The Sun Inn at Winkle Street. To make sue we got back in time we then returned to Newport and sampled The Crispin, The Castle and my favourite  The Real Ale House, quaint, small, full of life and a great selection of beer. Finally, home to Ventnor and you have to have that last one in The Crab and Lobster Tap ….. well you just do !

Your experience can be different each time with 7 different routes around the island and other than the free vintage buses theres no reason why you can’t do it any time of year as the buses are greta value and regular we recommend it whole heartedly.
