For the ‘Little Soldier in all of us’, have a great day out at the Wight Military and Heritage Museum, Northwood  Camp, Newport Road , towards Cowes by the County Show Ground. It’s a real experience on your ride in an armoured vehicle or tank, then go to the Shooting Range and fire a rifle (albeit an Air rifle) then browse the museum, they have nearly 20 different Military Vehicles, together with weaponry from both wars and much more memorabilia. It’s a great way to pass a half day. There’s also some interesting exhibits about the island’s involvement in both wars.

Although, there is Churchills Restaurant on site we wouldn’t recommend eating there as the food is worse than mediocre and service not great so get yourself into Cowes or Newport for a bit more quality and a but more choice.
